Join us to celebrate Himalaya Day 2024

May 29th, Himalaya Day, is a special day in the Australian Himalayan Foundation's history and heritage, as it commemorates the day in 1953 on which Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay achieved the first ascent of Mt. Everest. 

We invite you to join us in celebrating our shared love for the Himalaya and the humanitarian work that Sir Ed inspired.

AHF Events 

Spend a spectacular night with AHF Directors, Ambassadors and special guests, immersed in the Himalaya with delicious Indian and Nepalese cuisine, fantastic raffle prizes, Himalayan trivia and inspiring speakers.

Melbourne Himalaya Day

Speakers include AHF CEO Andrew Judge and AHF Ambassador & Sir Edmund Hillary’s grandson, George Hillary. The event will be MC’ed by AHF Founding Director Simon Balderstone.  

Sydney Himalaya Day

Speakers include AHF CEO Andrew Judge, AHF Founding Director Garry Weare & AHF Ambassador Richard I'Anson. The event will be MC’ed by AHF Ambassador & mountaineer Joe Bonington. 

Canberra Himalaya Day

Speakers include AHF Ambassador and mountaineer Andrew Lock and AHF Director & Paralympian Heath Francis. The event will be MC’ed by mountaineer Zac Zaharias.
