Historical Fiction Day (Cameron Park)
Event description
Newcastle Writer's Festival's dynamic Story Hunter team are excited for another all-day historical fiction deep dive - this time exploring the local history displays at Sugar Valley Library Museum! Considering our local industries, communities, and family life, students identify with characters from the Hunter region's past. This workshop is designed for high potential and passionate young writers in school years 5-8. The experienced writers and educators from Story Hunter have joined forces with the team at Sugar Valley Library Museum to make this a hands-on, informative day where our next generation of writers will have the opportunity to make their stories shine.
Schools are encouraged to send a small group with a supervising teacher. Tickets are currently capped at 12 per school to ensure more schools have the opportunity to attend, however, additional students may be added to the waiting list on request - please contact Emma at storyhunter@newcastlewritersfestival.org.au for more information.
