Hobart Shanty Sessions

Hobart Shanty Sessions are a free, rollicking good time open to all, held on the first Tuesday of each month. You can join the crew at our Facebook group, or sign up to our email list.

How it works:

- The first couple of shanties will be led by experienced seadogs, to get everyone into the swing of things

- After that, anyone can have a go at leading a shanty. Just let the evening's shanty master know you're keen before the session or during a break. Or stick your hand in the air and say 'Arrrrrr!'

- When you get up to lead, please make sure you teach everyone the shanty so we can all join in the fun.

- We believe that shanties are for everyone! It doesn't matter what gender, sexuality, race, or religion you are. It doesn't matter if you can't carry a tune in a bucket. All are welcome.

- It's free! But please support our venue by purchasing an alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage or two.
