We are starting 2025 with the best of 2024!
We've handpicked your favourite short film sessions from our 2024 Festival and are bringing them back to the screen in a special series of events we've called (imaginatively) 'Best of 2024'. And while our imagine might be lacking, each of these curated sessions of short films from our 2024 Festival epitimises the spirit and creativity of Heart of Gold International Short Film Festival.
Launching on Harmony Day on Friday 21 March 2025 with the classic session SOLID GOLD filled with short films that are guaranteed to inspire, comfort and leave you with a smile. This collection of heartwarming and inspiring shorts are from every corner of the world including Mexico, France, United States, Brazil, Germany and Australia.

RUN TIME: approx 90 minutes
We are pleased to shine a spotlight on student work with a special screening of the YOUNG FILMMKER session during Youth Week in April. Short films from all over Australia, all created by secondary students. A highlight is our local Award winner and we encourage you to come along to see the talent and innovation of young people on display. Come to both sessions, no films repeated.

Everyone's favourite session CHUCKLERS is back and filled with great comedies to sooth the soul. You'll be grinning from ear to ear with feel-good films to suit everyone on Friday 23 May 2025.

And to round it all off we have our 2024 WINNERS screening on Friday 13 June 2025. See the films that took home Best Short Film, Best Australian Film, Best Documentary, Best Screenplay and of course, the Audience Choice Award at our 2024 Festival. A great selection of films judged by our independent jury and the audience.
