Embrace Local! Hogfest Long Slow Lunch & Forum

Event description

The Bundarra Hogfest weekend is a festival of sorts to celebrate localism, great food and wine, wonderous ideas and live music. This is our 6th Annual event and second year running the Friday night forum where guest speakers share their projects, wild ideas about building food systems and thriving communities.  This is a great lead into the next day to make connections with each other before sharing the experience of the Saturday long slow food lunch.

Long Slow Food Lunch:

Hogfest is a long slow lunch at Bundarra Farm, just east of Barham in Southern NSW. Lunch is our regenerative farm grown produce and handcrafted salumi, highlighting our award winning Berkshire pork and heritage chicken, cooked over fire and served over the course of the afternoon in the farm garden, alongside natural wines and handcrafted local beers. Enjoy a short farm tour with us and our Maremma dogs to meet the free range heritage Berkshire pigs, Sommerlad chickens, beef cattle and the alpacas. Settle in for a traditional long slow feast over shared plates as the afternoon drifts away. This is a genuinely good country event with seriously good food and people who care about the food system and thriving local communities.

This year we will have our very own salami for you all to taste and purchase! Local lad Sean McConnell (originally form Barham) is playing, Hamish and Liz from Lake Meran Brewery have made us a bespoke beer form smoking their own malted grain over applewood to go with our pork, and we'll have gin cocktails made with a special batch orange gin. Beer and Wine and one cocktail is included in ticket price. Extra cocktails will be at bar prices.

Ticket includes: Long lunch over the afternoon, locally brewed beer and wine, live music, Camping overnight is most welcome, we do have a few maremma dogs though that will bark at foxes or roos at night. NO BYO food or alcohol please this is a licensed and catered for event. Kids are welcome but must be supervised at all times by their guardians.

Friday Night Discussions:

Join us on Friday evening for our second night of vibrant discussions and ideas over a casual BBQ dinner at the butchery in Barham. We'll be sharing our project news, and inviting a few special guests from other regional areas to share their project successes and community driven ideas that can change regional places for the better for everyone who lives there. NO BYO food or alcohol please this is a licensed and catered for event. Drinks will be available at bar prices. Kids are welcome but must be supervised at all times buy their guardians (This is an involved speaking event and might not be the most suitable event for the kids).
