Holiday Tech Day - Python for Beginners
Description
Holiday Tech Days
Python for Beginners
Just in time for the school holidays, the ICC team is proud to present a hands-on, one-day Python workshop designed especially for students in Years 9–12 who are brand new to coding.
No experience? Perfect. This day is built for complete beginners if your child has never written a single line of code, this is exactly where they should start.
Guided every step of the way by our instructors, students will go from total beginner to building their very own working games in Python, one of the world's most popular and in-demand programming languages. They'll leave with real code they wrote themselves, and the confidence to keep going.
By the end of the day, your child will have:
• Written their first ever lines of Python
• Built their own playable games from scratch
• Learned how real programs actually work
• Discovered whether coding could be their thing
This is a supportive, beginner-friendly environment where no question is too small and everyone starts from the same place.
Please note: this program is designed for beginners with little to no coding experience. Students who already code regularly may find the pace too gentle.
Program details:
· When: Tuesday 6th October 2026, 9:00am – 3:00pm
· Where: Innovation Central Canberra, University of Canberra, Building 27 - Level A
· Cost: $95 per child (excluding booking fee), snacks and pizza lunch included
