Creating Hollows for Habitat
Event description
In areas where natural tree hollows are scarce, such as urban environments, artificial tree hollows can be created to provide similar benefits. Join Brimbank City Council for an exciting live demonstration to watch expert arborists carve out an artificial tree hollow. After the arborists have created the artificial hollows and made the tree safe, we will work together to plant shrubs, grasses and wildflowers around the base of the habitat tree to provide additional food and shelter for small birds, lizards and insects.
If you have any access or support questions or requirements in order to participate fully, please let us know at least two weeks prior to the event and we will be pleased to assist you.Â
Brimbank City Council respectfully acknowledges and recognises the Wurundjeri and Bunurong peoples as the Traditional Custodians of this land and pays respect to their Elders past, present and future.
