Having a Home of My Own - Crucial Conversations
Event description
Join us in July CRU for another CRUcial Conversation on Home: Connections and collaborations- what can we achieve when we work together?
We all want our Home to be a place of sanctuary and security- somewhere we can be ourselves and become the people we want to be. For many of us this will mean moving out of the family home.
But for people with disabilities and their family the idea of moving out of the home can feel like a far-off dream. Even when the planning is done there are challenges and obstacles that can get in the way.
This evening offers a relaxed way to come together and learn from each other over a meal.
Join us this July for this crucial conversation which will be accompanied by a light meal. Arrive at 5.30pm for a 6pm start, finishing at 8pm.

Home: Connections and collaborations- what can we achieve when we work together?
Connecting with others who can understand your vision for yourself or your family member with disability can help you to build momentum, develop ideas, learn from others and reflect and refine your goals, vision, values, and strategies.
In this conversation we will look at and talk about some of the different ways we can learn together and collaborate to strengthen and resource ourselves, our community and each other.
Who Should Attend?
This session will be relevant to people with disabilities, their families and supporters who may have been thinking about how they can move into a home they can call their own and would like to explore this topic with others.
