Travel instructions

TRAM Stop 6: Town Hall & Collins St (100m away) – Routes 11, 12, 48, 109. Stop 11: Collins St & Swanston St (200m away)– Routes 1, 3, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67, 72. TRAIN The Capitol is an approximately 400m walk from Flinders Street Train Station or 600m from Melbourne Central Station, both along Swanston Street. CAR Some metered and/or timed parking spaces are located on Russell, Exhibition and surrounding streets. There are also several nearby car parks, including Federation Square and Melbourne Central car park. One on-street accessible parking bay is located on 206 Collins St (outside Melbourne Town Hall) and one on 257 Little Collins St.

Entry instructions

To enter the Capitol from Swanston Street, walk past Starbucks into the arcade. There are stairs on your right. Walk up the stairs and through the glass doors at the top to enter the foyer. The lift to the foyer is halfway through the arcade. Walk past the stairs into the arcade. The lift is on your right, between Your Jeweller and trbl. The entrance to the cinema is on the Foyer level.

After entry instructions

After you enter, there are some seats available in the main foyer on the right side when facing the theatre. On the left side (when facing the theatre) is a bar where you can get soft drinks, water and snacks.

Hazards

The entrance to the Capitol is on level 1, up a flight of stairs. There are handrails available on either side of the steps. Once the film has started, the light levels will be low.

Toilet location

Wheelchair accessible amenities are located on the Foyer level. Facilities include a baby change area.

Accessible Seating

The Capitol Theatre has eight accessible spaces, accompanied by eight companion seats. Four of these spaces are accessible from the Foyer level. The remaining four spaces are accessible from the Salon level (Level 3) via the lift. Please ask our front of house staff for directions or to accompany you to one of these spaces if assistance is required.

Hearing Loop

The Capitol is equipped with a hearing loop throughout the building. Please ask our front of house staff for assistance if required.

Companion Card

Companion Card Holders qualify for a complimentary second ticket. Please enter the access code “COMPANIONCARD” in the “Access Code” box at the top of the ticketing page of your selected event to reveal accessible ticket pricing. If you require a companion to access the event but do not have a Companion Card, we still encourage you to select Companion Card ticketing. We understand that not all patrons who require assistance to attend events have Companion Cards and therefore our accessible ticketing options are available to all those who require it.
