Event description

Whether you own or rent a house or an apartment, Inner West Community Energy will help you understand the areas of greatest energy use in the winter months. This session will cover general principles of energy use and efficiency, including heating and cooling, insulating and draughtproofing and offer tips and actions to make your home more cost effective and energy efficient.

The workshop is led by Inner West community Energy with speakers from Renew and 4 Seasons insulation.

IWCE

Inner West Community Energy is a not-for-profit community group on a mission to transition Sydney’s Inner West to 100% renewable energy. They provide free, practical advice and solutions for individuals, businesses and community organisations.

Kel Lupis (Renew)

Kel is an environmental enthusiast, nature lover and problem solver. His Home Energy Consultancy’s mission statement is to “demystify energy efficiency and thermal comfort.” He is co-convenor for the Sydney Branch of Renew. He has assessed over 500 residences throughout the ACT & NSW and helps homeowners, tenants, building designers and architects alike.

Renew is a membership non-profit organisation working to transform Australian homes for climate and energy resilience.

4 Seasons Home Insulation

4 Seasons Home Insulation have been the experts on all things insulation for over 30 years. They provide a large range of both services and diverse products to best suit your home.

Where: Undercover at Inner West Sustainability Hub - the Green Living Centre Education Space (towards the back of the site, at the end of the blue pedestrian path, near the garden space). Look for our signage. 

Light refreshments will be served on arrival.

Accessibility: If you have any access or support requirements in order to participate fully please let us know. The site is accessible via paved pathways with a slight slope from street to buildings.

Who: This workshop is provided free to residents of the Inner West local government area. This service is presented by the Green Living Centre, an initiative of Inner West Council. As numbers are limited, the service is only available to residents of Inner West Council area. Search by address at Find Your Local Council - Office of Local Government NSW website to find your local government area, if you're unsure. Proof of residential address will be required.
