    Event description

Turning your food waste into useful garden food is easier than you might think and can even save you money!

Join Ella from Compost Community for this interesting and practical guide to composting at home. She will take you through the basic science of composting to understand how it works and make it easy to recognise common composting issues and how to correct them. The session will also cover which composting system or worm farm is right for your household. Composting can be for everyone, whether you have a large yard, small courtyard or live in an apartment.

Please note that this is an event for Naarm/Melbourne gardeners only. If you live outside this area, please contact your council to find out what free sustainable gardening events are available locally.

If you have any access or support questions or requirements in order to participate fully (eg. interpreter), please let us know at least two weeks prior to the event and we will be pleased to assist you.

This My Smart Garden event is proudly presented by Merri-bek City Council on the land of the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. My Smart Garden pays our respect to Elders past, present and emerging and acknowledges that First Nations peoples have cared for Country sustainably for tens of thousands of years.
