Permaculture Hunter Home Dairy & Cheese Making
Event description
“Integrate rather than segregate”—in permaculture, this reminds us that the strength of a system lies in how its parts support one another. A well-loved house cow can nourish not only a household, but a whole community through shared cheese and trade.
Whether you’ve got space for a cow or are simply curious about the benefits of home-scale dairy, join us at Purple Pear Farm for an engaging afternoon of practical learning. We’ll explore how to keep a happy, healthy dairy cow and make the most of her contributions—from soil health to nutrient-dense milk.
We’ll roll up our sleeves and make fresh cheese together—likely Feta and Mozzarella—before gathering for a relaxed, family-friendly shared meal as the sun goes down.
