Event description

PermacultureWest is excited to offer you another online webinar this October.

Come and hear this timely webinar just before the bushfire season and another emergency is upon us. This is an interactive discussion presented by our very own convenor and permaculture teacher – Dominique Chanovre.

In this presentation, Dominique will cover:

  • How bushfire and emergency services work
  • How to protect and secure your property as a lifeboat
  • How to support your local community before your property and life is at risk.

There will be time for Q and A.

This is another opportunity for knowledge sharing and supporting one another in our WA community and beyond. PermacultureWest members’ tickets are discounted to $5 and non-members are $10. To become a member and avail of the discounted tickets, go here.

About Dominique

I completed my PDC in 2009, worked as Perth City Farm - Farm Supervisor for 2 years, travelled abroad to see other Permaculture projects in SE
Asia and Fiji, started my landscaping and Permaculture consultancy business, worked for several NGOs, still following the permaculture ethics of earth care and people care, by protecting WA forests as a forest activist with WAFA, then starting a soup kitchen for homeless people in
Perth with Food not Bombs.

I then worked with The Forever Project and the Water Corp as a Waterwise consultant, and then as a Firewise Project Officer while studying for my Masters degree in Disasters, Design and Development at RMIT.

I have just completed my Master Tree Growers course with Rowan Reid and Julian Sharpe down in Bridgetown. I currently volunteer at the Jandakot Bushfire Brigade and have started another soup kitchen at the Buffalo Club in Fremantle for community folk in need. When I have time I volunteer at my local community gardens and potter around the house.
