Event description

SEE Change Tuggeranong and the Uniting Church Tuggeranong invites you to attend this Home Energy Efficiency in the ACT Region Workshop as part of SpringFest.

Are you interested in making your home more comfortable to live within and also more energy efficient at the same time? Then this presentation is for you. Local expert Jeff Knowles, who grew up in Canberra, is ready to share some great ideas with you.

The majority of these ideas and principles are easy to grasp and do not cost a great deal to implement. Bookings are essential as places are limited. A copy of the presentation can be made available to participants, BYO USB thumb drive.

About Jeff Knowles

Jeff Knowles returned to Canberra with his family in 1963 and spent the next 20 years in schooling and his first university time here. After returning in 2000, Jeff and his partner built a full solar passive house in Jerrabomberra and worked in both education and sustainability – opening the home on many occasions over the next 15 years for what has become Sustainable House Day. The house incorporates many features that make it ideal for living well (and with a light ‘footprint’) in the ACT region.

Jeff has been involved in several (ACT Government based) sustainability programs to firstly help renters with high energy bills and more recently has taken the lead in a pilot programme to bring the ‘Scorecard’ residential efficiency program to the ACT region. Jeff is proud as a local to be educating and leading in this important area of sustainability.

Jeff is a life long learner. At present he is completing a Cert IV in Home Energy Efficiency and Sustainability through ‘Transformed’.

Everyone is welcome to attend this workshop, whether you are an owner or a renter. Numbers for this event are capped to 24.

The Neighbourhood Centre is located inside the church grounds just adjacent to the church main entrance. It's located on the corner of Sternberg & Comrie streets.

There is no parking available in the Church car park.

Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell or have been a close contact of someone with COVID-19. You are welcome to wear a face mask.
