  10. Wendy: Sandy Bay

    1. Wendy's Garden: Sandy Bay - 11am ticket

33 Regent Street, Sandy Bay I moved back to the family home and reworked the garden in French kitchen garden style (including lots of roses) after moving back to the family home 24 years ago but a boundary adjustment 7 years later gave me extra room for a more serious vegetable garden and berry cage (and more fruit trees). I'm in a culling phase and have planted more avocados to reduce the size of the veggie patch to be more manageable level. I compost, mulch and make biochar with unwanted growth so need few outside inputs. Luckily I don’t have possums or wallabies but spend a fair bit of time trying to keep rats, blackbirds and cockies away!

I compost, mulch and make biochar with unwanted growth so need few outside inputs. Luckily I don’t have possums or wallabies but spend a fair bit of time trying to keep rats, blackbirds and cockies away!

  16. Rosies Garden: Lutana - Opens 1pm, Closes 3pm ticket

My 700 sqm garden was mostly grass in September 2023, it is now a fruit and flower orchard out the back and a big mix of natives, herbs, citrus and roses out the front, including the verge using permaculture-ish principles. ACCESS: My block is on an incline and I’ve not flattened the orchard paths out yet so there’s mobility issues for the vulnerable
