Event description

Come home to yourself & nature. A weekend of workshops on the beautiful Tūtūkākā Coast. Choose one, some or all from 6 x 2 hour sessions (workshop descriptions and details below).

Saturday 27th April

  • Waka Workshop with Hiwa-I-Te-Rangi Waka Team: 8am-10am at Kowharewa Bay

This 2-hour workshop will introduce you to the beautiful world of paddling waka-ama. We take you through the physical, spiritual, and mental process of paddling the waka. We acknowledge the connection with the water and ourselves that paddling brings and would love to bring that experience to you. Our intention is to invite anyone that has a desire to learn about and experience waka-ama. We will take you through a coaching session on how to paddle in a six-person waka and take you out with our experienced coaches for a paddle in the beautiful Tutukaka Harbour.

Facilitators – Hiwa-I-Te-Rangi Senior Master Women. Hiwa-I-Te-Rangi is the name of our team. In 2023, we competed in the World Long Distance Champs in Samoa, and placed 4th in the world in our category. This August we have qualified to compete in the World Sprint Champs in Hilo, Hawaii , with 3 of our team qualifying to compete in the singles category. Although we all enjoy competing in waka-ama as a sport, first and foremost we love to paddle, and part of our Kaupapa is to share our knowledge so that others can experience the joy of paddling in Aotearoa.

No previous experience is necessary, we supply paddles, lifejackets, and the waka. Please bring clothing to paddle in (something that is warm, quick drying and light), a change of warm clothing, a towel, water, sun protection and snacks

  • Functional Breathing with Sacha Williamson: 10:30am-12:30pm at Home Tutukaka

Sacha is a guiding light in the realm of breathwork and holistic health, blending her deep expertise as a highly trained Freedive instructor trainer with her knowledge as an XPT high-performance Breathwork coach and a seasoned yoga instructor specialising in Pranayama.

Her approach surpasses the boundaries of high-performance athletes, reaching out to the everyday individual striving for a balanced and fulfilling life. As a mother of three, Sacha embodies the principles she teaches, understanding that sometimes, success is measured not in extraordinary achievements but in trying to navigatethe daily challenges of life with grace and resilience. Her workshops are designed not just for those seeking to push the limits of their physical capabilities but also for anyone looking to enhance their day-to-day well-being. Sacha’s teachings offer practical tools for everyone, from the elite athlete in search of that extra edge to the householder aiming to maintain and enhance their everyday life, however that may look for them.

Through her unique blend of ancient breathing techniques and modern science, Sacha empowers individuals to awaken their breathing muscles, improve cardiovascular health, and achieve a state of balance, proving that the pursuit of a high-performance lifestyle is accessible to all.

    Sunday 28th April

      • Dosha Workshop with Esther Tuliomanu: 12pm-2pm

Discover your Dosha – the unique blend of elements you bring to the world. Ayurveda – We are not separate from our environment, we are the environment, the environment is us. In this workshop we find your unique mind-body type, what this means, and how you can use it as a tool to navigate towards a life of thriving and well-being. We explore actionable steps using nutrition, movement, daily routines, emotional freedom techniques, healing through the five senses, Pranayama, and meditation, to bring ourselves back into balance. Once you discover your dosha, you can use the above tools to navigate pathways to a happier, healthier way of living based on your individual needs and desires.

Please bring a cushion, or something comfortable to sit on, something warm, an open mind and heart, wear comfortable clothing, water bottle, snacks, pen and paper or journal

        • Muscle Testing for Health Workshop with Kimberley Jade: 3pm-5pm

Do you want to improve your health? Muscle Testing is a super powerful way to get feedback from your body and use your body's innate healing abilities to tell you what it needs. Kimberley Jade has been a Kinesiologist for 15 years. Having successful clinics in Australia and New Zealand and taught Muscle Testing at various 2 day workshops and conscious festivals - she wants to teach you the power of Kinesiology and Muscle Testing. Kinesiology has given me so many tools to deal with my life situations and circumstances. To be able to tap out belief systems as they come up. Learning to discern and recognise what is my mine and what is actually real.

Do you have children you want to work with and learn tools to assist you and your families health? Are you feeling stuck, feel like you keep going around in circles? Can't seem to get yourself sorted and on the path you desire? This Kinesiology muscle testing workshop will give you the tools to ascertain if you are congruent with the affirmations and life path you are either heading towards or want to head towards. Tap in new belief systems, shift old patterns and get you feeling relieved, focused and heading in a positive direction.
