Event description

Saturday 18 May 2024, 5pm to 7pm

Ngurra Gunya Room, Parramatta Townhall

The Homelands Photo Exhibition features captivating images and stories from the frontlines of climate change in Australia and around the world.

The gallery will be showcased across multiple venues in Sydney CBD during Climate Action Week before its homecoming in Parramatta Town Hall in Western Sydney, the heartland of multicultural Australia.

Hosted in the Ngurra Gunya Room, it will be an evening of music, art, food and storytelling.

The exhibition presents multicultural Australians sharing the duality of their experiences of climate change.  It consciously seeks the perspectives of multicultural Australians and their peers in their ancestral homelands.

From emergency doctors to community workers to religious leaders to documentary journalists, the stories revealed in the photos share a common thread of hope surpassing fear and optimism overcoming anguish. These are the drivers climate conversations amongst everyday Australians everywhere – with the ultimate question, where to from here?
