This Homelessness Week, join Homelessness Australia for a national conversation about what's next in Australia's efforts to prevent and end homelessness.
We're delighted to welcome Minister for Housing and Homelessness Clare O'Neil for an in-person conversation with Homelessness Australia CEO Kate Colvin.
The conversation will explore opportunities, challenges and reforms that will shape the years ahead. It will also turn to the next Action Plan under the National Plan to End Violence against Women and Children, now being developed by the Australian Government. Homelessness Australia Chair Frances Crimmins will bring her deep experience in feminist service delivery to the discussion.
The event will also launch Homelessness Australia's Strategic Plan 2026–2030. Shaped by our members and supporters across the country, it sets a bold new direction for our work over the next four years.

Minister for Housing and Homelessness and Minister for Cities The Hon. Clare O’Neil
Clare O'Neil is a wife, mum, sister, daughter, friend, and the federal Labor MP for Hotham in Victoria. She has been the federal member for Hotham since 2013, a vibrant and multicultural community in Melbourne. Clare is the Minister for Housing, Homelessness and Cities. Before she was elected, she studied law and history at Monash University. She also studied public policy and economics at Harvard Kennedy School, where she was a Fulbright Scholar. She is also a former Mayor and Councillor in the City of Greater Dandenong, and at the time, she was the youngest female Mayor in Australia's history.
Kate Colvin
Kate Colvin is Chief Executive Officer of Homelessness Australia, the national peak body working to prevent and end homelessness through policy reform, advocacy, research and sector leadership, and Chairs the national housing and homelessness campaign, Everybody's Home. She has extensive experience in housing, homelessness, youth policy and social justice advocacy. Before joining Homelessness Australia, Kate was Deputy CEO of the Victorian homelessness peak body Council to Homeless Persons. Kate is passionate about driving evidence-informed reforms to end homelessness and create a fairer housing system.
Frances Crimmins
Frances Crimmins is Chair of Homelessness Australia and CEO of YWCA Canberra. Frances has led YWCA Canberra since 2013, driving systemic change for women and families experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, and disadvantage. Under her leadership, YWCA Canberra has grown into one of Canberra’s most trusted community organisations, delivering specialist support across housing and homelessness, domestic violence services, early childhood education, and women’s leadership programs. As Chair of Homelessness Australia, Frances shapes national policy on housing insecurity. Frances has also represented Australia as a YWCA civil society delegate at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women on six occasions. A passionate and tenacious advocate for gender equality, Frances volunteers across numerous boards and committees. On more than one occasion, she has been called a difficult woman—a title she wears with pride.
