HONEY POINT ~ PROM

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Honey Point acknowledges the land we work, perform and share on: the land of the Gadigal People of the Eora Nation. We recognise its true custodians, and pay respect to those that have passed before us and acknowledge today’s Aboriginal people as the custodians of this land. This land has been in the generation of Gadigal custodians before us and will be for thousands of years to come. Indigenous sovereignty was never ceded, this always was and always will be Aboriginal land.

It all started in 2018, when two jazzy-house loving souls crossed in the hallowed halls of Redfern’s FBi Radio. What followed, over cold beers at the Bearded Tit, was the blossoming lovechild of two Eora sweeties — Honey Point.

The goal to champion femmes in the local scene by way of jazzy-house became 5 years of love, parties, community radio, brunches, mixes, festivals, epic sets (hello Boiler Room???!!) and such a loving community. You could say we’ve almost done it all.

We’ve been reminiscing, thinking about all the wonderful people that have inspired us, who have shaped our sound, our joy, and as the Honey Point book draws to a close, there is but one more item to tick off our list; to throw the biggest, sweatiest, sexiest and jazziest prom night of the century with this crew.

From the Bee's who brought you sunny laneway dances, brunch with a side of bass and lots of *jazz piano* comes the final of the series. Don your finest gown, fertilise your rose bush and tighten your bows. It’s the party we’ve planned since day 1. Come help us finish what we started, with style. We’re going to prom!

Your limo awaits..

DRESSCODE ~

This is blazers and bow ties. This is corsages and satin. This is awkward poses and kitschy drip. We’ll be crowning 2 best prom royalty of the night, so get pretty.
