    Event description

We’re delighted to invite you to our webinar shining a spotlight on Horizon Europe, the EU’s largest-ever funding programme for research and innovation.

Now open for New Zealand applications, this groundbreaking initiative boasts a massive NZD$90 billion allocation. Discover how you can be part of this transformative funding initiative.

Join us for an overview of the programme, examples of current New Zealand collaborations and the opportunity to have your questions answered by our experts. AgriTechNZ’s Kylie Horomia hosts the discussion with our local Horizon Europe liaison Cecile de Klein and Lincoln Agritech’s Joanna Costello.

    MEET THE SPEAKERS

Cecile de Klein, MBIE Contact Point for Horizon Europe (Cluster 6) and AgResearch Principal Scientist.

Cecile de Klein is the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment’s (MBIE) National Contact Point for Horizon Europe Cluster 6: Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment. She is also a Principal Scientist with AgResearch and has 30+ years research experience in nitrogen cycling and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from grazed livestock systems.

Cecile leads the low-GHG plants programme of the New Zealand Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Research Centre and the New Zealand contribution to a Horizons2020 programme on developing carbon-neutral farming systems. She works closely with the agricultural sector and policy makers to help develop tools for on-farm management of nitrogen flows and GHG emissions, and to improve national GHG accounting.

Joanna is a Business Development Manager at Lincoln Agritech, a research and development company focusing on engineering and scientific technologies that support agriculture, industry and the environment.

Upon returning to New Zealand, with previous European working experiences, including Horizon 2020 projects, Joanna has been proactive in driving new connections and identifying meaningful ways for Lincoln Agritech to collaborate with European partners.

In February this year, she joined 13 partners in Athens to kick off the STELLA project, one of the first successful proposals including a New Zealand entity since becoming formally associated with the programme.
