Horrified IV: Creature Feature
Event description
The monster isn’t always under the bed—sometimes, it lives in plain sight. Join The Snips for Horrified IV: Creature Feature, a chilling and imaginative exploration of monsters through the medium of textile and fiber art.
From Godzilla as a metaphor for nuclear destruction to the parasitic fungus of The Last of Us, creatures have long served as cultural barometers—externalizing our collective fears, moral failings, and anxieties about power, nature, and otherness. This year’s exhibition delves into what it means to be “othered,” feared, or misunderstood, asking: where do the monsters truly live?
Featuring emerging and mid-career textile and fiber artists from across Minnesota, Creature Feature continues The Snips’ annual spooky season tradition—an invitation to confront the dark side of humanity with a threaded needle and a wicked grin.
