The Bodia Group is a Brisbane based registered not-for-profit organisation created to support disadvantaged youth in Cambodia. Our mission is to support the well being, education standards and future prospects of poor and marginalized teenagers in Phnom Penh and the surrounding provinces.
Since 2014, The Bodia Group has raised funds to provide tertiary education scholarships and invest in sustainable social enterprises. Our organisation has partnered with a local community care organisation called SCCDO to guarantee food security, access to education and work opportunities for the children under its umbrella.
With the help of the Brisbane community, we have been able to make a lasting impact and a tangible difference for several communities in Phnom Penh and Takeo Province. In 2016, our organisation funded the construction of new classrooms, purchased school uniforms and bunk beds for schooling children in the Sangkat Teuk Thla district. In 2017, we were able to invest in a sustainable farm initiative development project to enable the local SCCDO organisation to become financially independent. Presently, higher education is our priority and our team is pursuing a scholarship program to send bright youngsters to university and other skills based colleges.
