As the pre-eminent institution in Australia to promote the objectives of the United Nations, the United Nations Association of Australia in New South Wales was established in 1946 to inform, inspire and engage all Australians regarding the critical work, goals and values of the United Nations and to create a safer, fairer and more sustainable world. We do this by engaging and partnering with the Australian Government and all sectors of the community—business, professional associations, academia, schools and civil society—and through organising several important annual events, including our official United Nations Day commemoration and celebrations.
