Supporting Refugees Seeking Asylum
DIGNITY is a Temple Beth Israel initiative that has been formed from seeing Jewish history reflected in the plight of refugees from many nations who have come to Australia as a place of safety from war and persecution. Tikkun Olam (‘repair of the world’) is a Jewish concept which over time has become synonymous with a call for social justice. But as Jews we cannot be involved in ‘repairing the world’ if we do not know and understand the ways in which the world is broken.
