Ladies Who Long Lunch was created by Kirsty Fields, an event professional with more than 25 years' experience bringing people together through events, marketing and community.
Kirsty designed the Ladies Who Long Lunch concept before COVID, with a simple idea at its heart: women deserved more opportunities to step away from their everyday responsibilities, sit around a beautiful table and spend meaningful time in good company.
The first Ladies Who Long Lunch was held in March 2022. Since then, Ladies Who Long Lunch has grown into a calendar of long lunches and special events bringing together business owners, professionals, corporate teams, community leaders and women from many different stages of life.
Each event is intentionally designed around more than what's on the run sheet. The venue, food, speakers, table conversations and atmosphere all play a part in creating an experience where women can enjoy themselves, hear different perspectives and meet people they may never otherwise have crossed paths with.
At the centre of many Ladies Who Long Lunch events is the signature Empowerment Panel, a facilitated conversation rather than a series of formal presentations. Women from different industries, backgrounds and experiences share their stories honestly, giving guests the opportunity to hear perspectives that can be funny, challenging, reassuring, surprising and sometimes wonderfully familiar.
Today, Kirsty continues to design and direct Ladies Who Long Lunch through her business Social Ocean, drawing on more than two decades of event experience and her work across marketing, business and community.
Her philosophy for Ladies Who Long Lunch remains refreshingly simple: Create the occasion. Set the table. Bring interesting women into the room. Then give them the time and space to enjoy what happens next.
