Now I’d like to share with you what inspired me to create this event and how my experience of nurturing my mental health can benefit you.
I am deeply passionate about bringing people together. I had felt this community lacked a safe place where people could meet to make friends with no other hidden agenda.
So we birthed our first real life in person platform to bring more friendship medicine into our local community.
However, with current changes to our environment we have shifted this event to Online.
Like all of you I juggle many roles. Including being a wife, mother of little girls and working full time as a business owner.
My personal journey of finding self love and connection began in 2009 with the experience of my own health challenge... chronic post natal depression and auto immune disease. During the next 4 years I felt very lonely and isolated, I was on a cocktail of strong medication and I was in and out of mother and baby units and rehab.
After healing my gut health, becoming a Reiki Master and reaching out…I realised the value of friendships. I now feel a deep sense of self-acceptance and my circle of friends have become my chosen family. I am now fully recovered, 22kg lighter, off all medication and I embrace all facets of my anxious personality type.
My belief is that we can all feel good and it doesn’t require loads of money or hours of meditation. My daily self-care practices take less than 1 minute and when combined with, a gut health diet, movement and the medicine of friendship, we have a winning formula. So if you want to stay on top of your game then I encourage you all to prioritise time in your life to connect with friends.
