About Foundations Forum
Foundations Forum is a New South Wales (NSW) non-profit organisation formed in 1985 by a group of individuals committed to improving the lives of people who are marginalised in society.
Our aim is to challenge, inspire and encourage individuals and organisations to pursue better lives for people who are at risk of being devalued, by promoting the principles and practice of Social Role Valorisation (SRV).
We seek to achieve this through
- Promoting greater awareness and understanding of Social Role Valorisation theory and its related concepts.
- Conducting training events/workshops that focus on the awareness of the circumstances of people who are devalued by society, and offer positive strategies for creating the conditions which are more likely to lead to a better life for those people
- Sponsoring or supporting events which challenge ideas.
- Supporting individual leadership development, consistent with the principles of Social Role Valorisation.
- Nurturing and supporting the development of a network of individuals committed to promoting positive lifestyles for people who are at risk of being marginalised.
