Annette Rohde is Fresh Ginger Creative, a writer, printmaker and ceramicist who runs workshops that engage and inspire through creative storytelling projects that recognise the value of community members and their stories. Held at Annette’s studio, the Curiosity Café, her workshops are a fun, creative and engaging way to encourage the sharing of stories, to inspire, acknowledge and contribute to building a connected and creative community.
Annette holds creative and business planning workshops and community arts projects focussed towards making an impact on community health and wellbeing through sharing stories. Events are mainly held in beautiful Aldinga Beach at the Curiosity Cafe, home of Fresh Ginger Creative, situated between the scrub and the beach. The Curiosity Cafe is a creative hub in a semi-enclosed space in her back garden. It is a place where you can connect with others, be curious and explore your creativity. It is a place where you can play with no expectations, no requirements to have artistic skills, it a place for you to be you.
In her creative practice, Annette creates intaglio dry point prints, journals and ceramic vessels that tell a story. Made by hand using clay, ink and cotton rag paper, they are inspired by people’s stories and nature. Annette aims to make things that are a pleasure to hold and inspire conversations. Annette is also a community artist working on projects collecting and sharing stories within a community using both words and images.
Annette has a Bachelor of Communications and a Masters in Visual Art & Design along with certificates in Mental Health First Aid, Understanding Dementia and Preventing Dementia. Annette is fully vaccinated from COVID-19 and complies with all government requirements.
