Tessellate means togetherness. A collective made up of individual pieces who come together to create something bigger and stronger than the sum of their parts. An experience showcasing art and music both locally and from around the world.
An essential part of this process involves the acknowledgement of the traditional custodians of this land, the Boon Wurrung and Woi Wurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation. It is on their land that we are able to connect to one another, across generations and geographical spaces. We would like to pay our respects to their Elders, past present and emerging, and extend this to other First Nation persons. With this comes the recognition that indigenous sovereignty has never been ceded.
