Debbie Millard of dhm Coaching & Consulting will be facilitating this workshop in a collaboration with The College of Law.
Debbie is known as “the friendly face of finance”, describing herself as a people person that happens to do numbers. Debbie is proud of the fact that she has been told she has too much personality to be an accountant.
She has developed a reputation for being able to talk about business finances in plain english, explaining accounting jargon and concepts in a way that all of us from a non-financial background can understand. Debbie inspires confidence in her clients by deliberately keeping group sizes small, creating a safe space for participants to be a little bit vulnerable in admitting what they don’t know. She works by the mantra “there is no such thing as a stupid question”.
Participants in Debbie’s workshops have commented that she has the unique ability to make finances a fun and interesting topic, tailoring the content to the needs of the participants enabling them to find their own clarity.
As a financial literacy facilitator Debbie is comfortable working across the spectrum of large corporates, public sector, not-for-profits and small medium enterprises. Her experience as a facilitator for the Australian Institute of Company Directors (Company Directors Course), Small Business Development Corporation, College of Law and for many not-for-profit boards equips her to do this.
Debbie learnt her craft as a chartered accountant with KPMG, evolved as a Chief Financial Officer with large private business; a non-executive director, treasurer and Chair for not-for-profits and a business coach with small medium enterprises.
