The Progress Association was first formed back in the early 1960’s and began as “Morwong Beach Progress Association” under the Presidency of Norm Pullen. In 1964 when they found they needed more members for a quorum, the name was changed to the Coochiemudlo Island Progress Association.
Our objectives are:
- To identify community needs
- To improve the quality of community life
- To strengthen community identity and capacity
- To protect the natural environment of the island
- To liaise with government and other organisations
- To support and engage with business and service providers to the island
- To support and engage with local associations, clubs and organisations
- To remain a-political, non-religious and non-sectarian
