Tessa Alexa Stanford graduated with an Honours Degree in Psychology in 2011 from the University of Queensland. After becoming disillusioned with modern psychological approaches to mental health and overall wellbeing, she resigned from her 8-year career in the Community sector, to seek deeper answers and create the change in the world she knew she was truly here to create.
During her career, Tessa specialised in Holistic Wellbeing Interventions, Trauma Assessments and Staff Development. Tessa completed additional study (in Health Science, Nutritional Medicine, Emotional-Regulation and Neurobiology of Complex Trauma) and worked with various disadvantaged populations within fields of Child Protection, Early Intervention Mental Health, Domestic Violence, Asylum Seekers and Refugees, and Alternative Education.
Tessa has since founded Emotion-Mindset Institute, where she now works at the intersect of psychology, embodied love and global wellbeing. She blends her love for creativity, innovation and human transformation into supporting her clients through specialised education and mentoring services to support them to be their true self in a world that’s taught them not to be. As well as investing time into long-term research into the broader social application of her developed framework “Emotion-Mindset”, and facilitating novel community initiatives to work at an early-intervention level to do her bit to help transform our local and global wellbeing crises.
At heart, Tessa is a small town Country Queensland girl who’s always had big dreams and ultimately learnt, we must be willing to have the courage to be who we truly are and be the change we wish to see in the world first and foremost.
Tessa envisions a wildly-authentic, emotionally-mature and open-hearted world; where courage is mainstream, following your heart is no longer taboo and True-Self Suppression no longer exists. In this world, all children are supported in their unique creativity and True-Self Expression, the pivotal role of parenting and community in raising children and looking after one another is revered, global wellbeing is thriving - and systems are reformed to support the authentic liberation of all.
