As a younger man Si quit studying medicine at the University of Western Australia and hitchhiked into the outback. He spent several years living on country, developing his unique style of didgeridoo playing.
Years later Si was the only white didge player to be featured in the Sydney Olympics didgeridoo documentary, Yidaki. Afterwards he was invited to Arnhem Land by high-elder Djalu Gurruwiwi where he studied traditional playing.
In the early 2000’s Si lived and worked with Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas and Montreal. He went on to be signed to the UK’s leading management company with a history that includes the likes of Queen, Metallica and ACDC.
Si pioneered the sound experience project Dream Drone that integrates Yolngu language in song with contemporary style of didgeridoo playing. Dream Drone has sold out events at the prestigious Sydney Opera House.
Si now resides in Fremantle, where he incorporates drums, flamenco guitar and voice into his offerings.
