Manal al-Sharif is perhaps best known as the face of the campaign to overturn laws preventing women from driving in her home country of Saudi Arabia. In 2011, Manal was jailed for nine days after posting a video of herself driving on social media but ultimately achieved reform.
A cyber security expert, Manal is also the founder of The Ethical Technologists Society advocating for a humane digital world. She hosts the "tech for evil" podcast which discusses the intersection between tech and human rights. She was named one of the top 100 Most Influential People in the World by the magazine and one of the world's top 50 women in tech by Forbes.
