In response to the East Fremantle communities call for action on Climate, the Town of East Fremantle declared a Climate Emergency in November 2019.
On the 17 March 2020, the Town decided to develop a Climate Action Reference Group (CARG) to assist the Town in combatting climate.
As of June 2020, CARG has been working together to assist the Town in identifying targets, projects, and actions to mitigate and adapt to the future challenges of Climate Change. CARG acting as a conduit between the Council and Community in providing recommendations to assist in developing a Climate Emergency Strategy (CES) and Climate Emergency Action Plan (CEAP).
