A fun-fuelled festival celebrating and supporting young people!

The banks of Lake Kawana are set to come alive on Saturday 6 May 2023 with a festival like no other. Bring the family, organise the crew or maybe just rock up on your own. This festival is about connecting with likeminded people and feeling the support of your community. Every day is an opportunity to try something new and we are super keen to see as many faces enjoying the day as possible.

We have are yet to announce our awesome line up of musicians and presenters so STAY TUNED! Our 2022 edition of Nurture Festival included headliners Jaguar Jonze and Jade Holland. Both female artists are ambassadors for mental health and are both award-winning and globally-nominated performers who brought a wealth of their heartfelt shared knowledge and raw performances to the stage.

The inaugural Nurture Festival was held May 7, 2022, at Lake Kawana, bringing together charities, organisations and professionals to enable youth to reach out and connect and for parents to seek support for themselves or a loved one.

The Nurture Festival was born from a need to provide Sunshine Coast families and carers with easy-to-find support and information for young people struggling with mental health concerns.

The Sunshine Coast is lucky to have a number of incredible organisations providing disability services and mental health support to our youth but given an increasing need in these areas (especially in the last year with COVID-19 related pressures) they are often under-resourced and lack the time to really promote themselves and connect with the community.

To that end, a group of local individuals have come together to host the Nurture Festival in May 2022, where support providers have the opportunity to pool resources and work together collaboratively.

The over-arching goal of the festival is to encourage greater community understanding and awareness around youth mental health. The aim is to provide a fun festival of music, creativity and activities where families and kids of all ages will naturally gravitate but will also be exposed to a variety of mental health support networks available on the Coast. The festival reinforces the Sunshine Coast community’s ongoing commitment to nurturing happy and healthy kids.
