The Indian (Sub-Cont) Crisis & Support Agency (ICSA) is the first NGO for the Indian Subcontinent (South Asian) community in Australia.
Founded in 2014 to address the growing gaps in services for people in distress from Culturally & Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities; ICSA is dedicated to assisting people with a focus on their unique needs and challenges.
It is generally recognised that issues in CALD communities are intersectional and multi-layered, so need to be addressed within this context. ICSA runs individual crisis and case management services building solutions and seeking culturally sensitive options for the complex issues of these communities.
ICSA assists people across a broader South Asian community from across Australia; providing support with sensitivity and understanding of the deeply embedded values and traditions. ICSA services are open to people from any cultural background.
ICSA receives no funding for our work; we depend on the community for support to keep our services running through volunteers (essentially unpaid workers). Our people are those who share our passion for social justice and our strong desire to improve supports for the community.
