I find myself in the long grass, casting shadows in paddocks, walking in my purple raincoat, bent down on creek beds....I am a forager. That bush tucker lady, the wild food huntress of Cobaki. From lemon myrtle, to marshmallow fungi, to wild raspberries, all turned into magical meals, wild food huntress, emerging social media presence, Chanterelle Foggin is exploring her passion of wild edible weeds, bush foods and Fungi, having created Forage and Grow NSW page on Facebook as a platform to share her creative food adventures, foster safe learning and connect people through shared knowledge. A poem for permission journeys her personal response and call to action to acknowledge, respect and value first nations clans and elders in her NNSW home. Highlighting, this important aspect of Chanterelle's Australian wild food experience, and paving the way for the Forage and Grow community and Australian's at large to explore their own pathways to seeking permission and paying respect's and learning about foods from indigenous Australians. Often at times a cheeky unrepentant urban forager, always entertaining this girl's gone wild adventure will set you out inspired into your own backyards, nature strips and parks looking for a bit of the passion Chanterelle shares. Whether you join her for a bougie country lunch, at her charming cottage feasting on wild greens and homemade ricotta spanakopita, with a wild fig and lilly pilly relish or bunya nut and warrigal greens gnocchi tummys and hearts will be full.
