The Fig Tree Children has been helping underprivileged children in Sierra Leone since September 2015. Their efforts provide resources that allow carers to support and educate their children.
The Ebola epidemic created a second wave of orphans following the devastation of the ten years Civil War. A staggering 12,000 children were left orphaned. Some have found homes with extended families, but thousands risk exploitation, discrimination, and being trafficked.
Their efforts are focused on Sierra Leone where they provide support to the sponsored child’s carer and pay school fees directly to the schools their children attend.
