Rachel is an environmental Artist, a teacher, and a curator.
A member of the Royal Art Society, the Australian Watercolour Institute and a graduate in Masters from the UNSW, College of Fine Arts.
She has been teaching for over 20 years. Currently Rachel is teaching at Kurringai Art Centre, Willoughby Art Centre and at John Colet Primary School in Belrose. Plus, she teaches from her Beacon Hill Studio.
Rachel runs Art events and exhibitions and she teachers Art to children and adults in her Beacon Hill Studio. All Art workshops involve drawing and then painting; some classes are just for sculpture. We discuss all elements of Art before we begin, for example, colour, form and composition. We then explore a similar artwork by Artists from Australia and Europe or America. A broad overview of how other artists create but also a historical element to explain the times they painted in. This helps explain why they painted what they painted. And we have learned to engage the power of now. Art is like an active meditation, embrace it, your mind will thank you for it.
