Sandra Ross is a visual artist who motifs of landscape and natural form as a metaphor to describe her personal experiences and feelings of loss and grief, and the internal struggle to heal.
Often narrative in form, she invites her viewer into her world that is both transcendental, imaginative, and mystical, - a world where recovery is possible.
With charcoal, pastel, watercolour, and gouache, she renders layers of line, form, and colour in innovative and lyrical movements, echoing time, memory, and place.
An educator for over 40 years, Sandra encourages others by offering creative experiences, short courses, and workshops in a variety of media and subjects.
She completed a Bachelor of Education (Art) from City Art Institute (formerly Alexander Mackie CAE) Sydney in 1982, and a Masters of Art, Visual Art (MAVA) from Queensland College of Art, Brisbane in 2002.
Sandra has exhibited throughout Australia and has won numerous awards both locally and regionally.
