Louisa Kingsford-Smith – creating beautiful organic objects using a variety of media. I have always had an interest in art and creating beautiful things. Over the years I have experimented with a variety of media. I am drawn to the beautiful imperfection and colours of nature. I love to use palm inflorescence to create organic shapes that are decorative and functional. The inflorescence is the complete flower head of the palm including stems, stalks, bracts, and flowers. I like to take part of the plant and whilst maintaining its essence create it into a new form based on another element or shape in nature. I love the organic natural form of these pieces which have been gently woven to create interesting artistic pieces.
