The Canterbury Centre of the Royal New Zealand Pipe Bands' Association is one of eight districts in NZ, and includes Canterbury, Marlborough, Nelson and Westland. It is the largest Centre geographically, and in member bands. The Centre is involved in the running of contests, organising educational activities for bands and their members, and collaborating to assist the RNZPBA in general tasks of administration. We are pleased to be running the NZ & South Pacific Championships – the first major pipe band championship in Christchurch since 2009, with the effects of the Canterbury earthquakes resulting in the event being held in other cities around the country since.
