Dobson Guitar Services evolved as a business from a hobby where David Dobson was performing guitar repairs on his own guitars as well as undertaking guitar repairs on his friends' guitars during the 80’s and 90’s whilst performing in the Launceston music scene. Originally developing his skills during training as a fitter and turner during the 1970’s this skill set transferred easily into guitar repairs. ‘‘I suppose I am a bit of a perfectionist, my wife says I am, but you’ve got to be, don’t you?’’ That penchant for perfection is what has solidified his brand; not only in Tasmania, but interstate and 15 years on Dobson Guitar Services has become one of the most respected and trusted guitar repair services in Tasmania with a strong following from the local Tasmanian music scene as well as interstate artists when on tour.
