Madagascar-born Lala Simpson is a Wellington NZ-based community song leader, songwriter, singing workshop facilitator, and singer who delights young and old alike with her passionate, playful, and joyful approach to singing and her focus on community singing.
She has an innate rhythm, a natural singing voice, and a deep passion for empowering individuals and communities through singing. Lala currently leads the Wellington Community Choir and Kotaba Voices and travels around New Zealand leading various communities into song. You can also see her perform with other artists whether it's singing French chansons or songs from her homeland Madagascar.
She brings with her a wicked sense of humor, an authentic taste of Madagascar, a deep love for its culture and traditions, patience, compassion for the learner, a deep sense of the power of community singing and every singer's unique place in it, and a canvas for everyone to paint their voice on and create something beautiful in a collaborative way.
