Gallery One (MVAC) is an independent and not-for-profit community art gallery/teaching studio and one of the longest running organisations of its kind in Australia (founded in 1974) This organisation, located within the Mitcham Cultural Village, is promoting and showcasing art and crafts with a strong community and art teaching focus driven by
energy, motivation, passion and countless hours of many dedicated artists, art educators and volunteers.
GALLERY ONE ACKNOWLEDGES THAT WE ARE MEETING ON THE TRADITIONAL COUNTRY OF THE KAURNA PEOPLE AND PAYS RESPECT TO KAURNA ELDERS PAST, PRESENT AND EMERGING.
We recognise and respect their cultural heritage, beliefs and relationship with the land. We acknowledge that they are of continuing importance to the Kaurna people living today. We also extend that respect to other Aboriginal Language Groups and other First Nations.
