Eira-Shay Barker-Hart is a figurative, mixed media artist based in Brisbane, Australia. Raised on a remote island off the west coast of Canada, she is deeply inspired by the wildness of the organic world and the reintegration of humanity with it.
As a self-taught artist, Eira-Shay has developed her signature style through exploration of different mediums. Organic elements are key in her process. She uses the grain of the wood to plan each composition allowing a natural tone to ring through each piece. Her work weaves intimate narratives of the feminine, with a hunger for interconnection of self and nature.
Eira-Shay has shown and sold her work throughout North America and Australia. She is highly valued for her commission work, where she combines her client’s figures and feelings to tell their own unique story. Her painting “Woman of the Woods” won highly commended in the Federation Art Prize 2020.
