Kat Dunn is a humanitarian capitalist with a passion for systems redesign. She was born in Manila, grew up in Geraldton and has come back to Perth after 16 years in Sydney.
Her background spans corporate law, M&A/venture capital, banking & finance, funds management and international development. After seeing the damage traditional capitalism inflicts on people and the planet, she moved into poverty alleviation, as the CEO of Grameen Australia - the local replication of Nobel Peace Prize winning microfinance program, Grameen Bank.
She is a social entrepreneur, TEDx speaker, recovering lawyer and advisor to impact web3 projects through her consultancy, Aviatrix and sits on non-profit boards (including alternative protein think tank, Food Frontier, and Women for Election).
She came to DeFi from TradFi and microfinance and is passionate about redesigning human systems to be more equitable. Kat is the WA Chapter Lead for the Aus Defi Association and co-steward of the Modern Renaissance which reimagines civilization for the flourishing of all life on Earth. IRL she enjoys climbing, running and stand up comedy.
