The Australian Catholic Anti-slavery Network (ACAN) modern slavery risk management program began implementation in 2019. Over 95 Catholic entities participate in the ACAN Program with supplier engagement and risk management activities recorded in 41 Modern Slavery Statements. The ACAN footprint of goods and services procured by Catholic entities across Australia covers $9 billion of spend on:
- 80 hospitals
- 20,000 aged care beds
- 12 campuses across 2 universities
- 1759 schools
- 960 community service sites
