The Centre for Human Rights Education at Curtin University is a centre for research, postgraduate teaching, critical scholarship and advocacy on human rights. The Centre leads ethical scholarship, enabling individual agency and community engagement on human rights and social justice through the study and promotion of human rights at local, national and international levels.

The Centre is supported by the Faculty of Humanities, Futures Platforms.

The Australian Council for Human Rights Education (ACHRE), was established in 1999 by a group of committed and dedicated volunteers to actively pursue human rights education in Australia in response to the UN Decade on Human Rights Education (HRE). ACHRE is registered in Victoria under the Associations Incorporations Act 1981.
